Frequently asked customer questions:

Q: What is the timeline? How long does one consulting cycle take?

A:  If your district is choosing all four of the main consulting services, the expected timeline is one school year. You may also select to break the components up into smaller time periods; for example, you could start the process in the spring and complete it the following fall.

Q: What is the typical pricing for your consulting services?

A:  If you choose just one of the consulting components, you can pay hourly, just contact us for our current hourly rate. If you are choosing two or more of the services, you can request a quote which will vary based on the number of administrators in your district and how many components you are choosing.

Q: What does a “CSPEL-aligned” evaluation system mean?

A: We have received feedback from administrators that only using the CPSELs in an evaluation form leaves out some key leadership qualities that are essential for the day-to-day operation of a school site. For example, it is essential that a principal or AP respond to email in an effective and timely fashion, but that is usually not part of an evaluation form. We have combined the key CPSEL qualities with practical skills to create “I statements” that administrators use to rate themselves on a scale from 1 to 5. This is compared with the supervisor/superintendent’s rating to create goals for the administrator based on specific strengths and areas of growth.

Q: Who are the key district and site administrators involved in this process?

A: Initially we form a planning committee that is comprised of the superintendent or assistant superintendent, one or two district office directors, one principal, and one assistant principal. We work with this team to establish the consulting plan and timeline, and to lead the meetings with the district’s administrative team throughout the school year. Typically this would be two to three planning meetings, then three to four meetings with the group of site administrators from the district.
